Media coverage in December? And largely positive at that. We’re extremely pleased that blog favorite, Lorraine
Charrette, is the Ottawa Can-AM team’s first signing. Lorraine has been with the Lynx, almost from the beginning, and more than any other signing Mr. Wolff will make, she may be the most important. I spoke with Lorraine briefly yesterday and the phone was ringing off the hook - busy as she was, she wouldn’t have it any other way. Congratulations Lorraine!
*** UPDATE ***
For now, the Can-Am team has but one employee, administrative assistant Lorraine Charrette, who was a 131/2-year employee of the Lynx.
She wasn’t quite there from Day 1, but close.
“There is a lot to be done and a lot of planning to be done,” said Charrette, whose son, Mark, a senior shortstop at Shorter College in Rome, Georgia, could be just the type of player the new team will want. “But it’s baseball and you’ve got to love it.
“We’ve had quite a few calls already … people asking what it’s about, who is involved … things like that. From people wanting to work. There is interest here in Ottawa, and that’s great. It’s nice to hear from people out there.”
And Charrette knows the phone will soon be ringing from player agents and free agent players, just looking for a place to play.
